Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Munoz (ranked 1105 p4p, 2007 weight class) and Zdravko Dren Jr (ranked 121 p4p, 203 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zdravko Dren Jr!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dren Jr cracks Munoz with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Johnny Munoz has been cut.
Dren Jr throws a body shot but no joy.

Munoz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Munoz looking to sit in guard and control but Dren Jr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Munoz has his hands on Dren Jr's head, controlling the position.
Dren Jr is looking to stand up but Munoz won't let him.
Munoz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dren Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

It seemed like Dren Jr was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Horrible takedown attempt by Munoz or perhaps it was just good defense by Dren Jr, which made it look bad.

Munoz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dren Jr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A looping hook to the body misses from Dren Jr. Munoz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Munoz was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Munoz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Munoz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dren Jr on his heels. He'll look to pass Dren Jr's guard now, I'm sure.

Dren Jr is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Munoz presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Munoz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dren Jr is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Munoz has Dren Jr pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dren Jr manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
