Coming up we have a bantamweight kickboxing rules bout between Pedro Gomez (ranked 1849 p4p, 914 weight class) and Koos Van Asch (ranked 131 p4p, 66 weight class). Gomez comes to the ring accompanied by Hotel California (Spanish Mix). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Gomez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Koos Van Asch!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Van Asch moves away.
Gomez looks to land a combination but Van Asch avoids it well.
Gomez throws out a loose jab but Van Asch uses good head movement to avoid it.
Van Asch flicks out a counter leg kick but Gomez steps away.
Gomez misses with a lunging right hand
and Van Asch counters with a left to the body.
Gomez throws a body shot but no joy.
Van Asch throws a big counter head kick but Gomez avoids it with no problem.
Gomez throws a lazy right hand but Van Asch sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Van Asch replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Gomez blocks it well.

Van Asch looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Gomez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Pedro Gomez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Van Asch thows a body kick. Gomez tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Gomez lands with a nice body punch.
Gomez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Van Asch sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Van Asch takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gomez misses with a low kick.
Van Asch throws a leg kick but Gomez sees it coming and moves out of range.
Gomez is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gomez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Van Asch. That did some damage!
Gomez throws a shot from downtown. Van Asch moves away and avoids it.
Van Asch doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Gomez lands with a kick to the ribs.

Van Asch bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gomez's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Van Asch moves forwards but Gomez connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Gomez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Van Asch is trying to counter with his kicks.
Gomez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Gomez's jab looks to have found its range, popping Van Asch under the eye.

and Van Asch counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Van Asch lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Gomez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Van Asch lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Gomez scores with a jab. Van Asch acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

It seemed like Van Asch was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gomez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gomez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Van Asch throws a leg kick which misses Gomez's front leg but catches the back leg as Gomez tries to avoid it.

Pedro Gomez is winning the standup battle so far.
Van Asch connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Gomez's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Gomez - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
