Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mate Orsic (ranked 361 p4p, 409 weight class) and Yasol Kim (ranked 52 p4p, 63 weight class). Orsic's entrance music is KRS One - Rappaz R. N. Dainja. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mate Orsic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 38 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yasol Kim! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim lands a jab to the head.
Kim tries to clinch up but Orsic circles away and keeps his distance. Orsic lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Nice body punch from Kim. Kim moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Orsic fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kim throws a hook but Orsic avoids it easily. Orsic misses with a two punch combination.
Kim is trying to counter with his kicks. Kim connects with a solid leg kick. Orsic misses the body punch and Kim counters by moving into the clinch. Orsic tries to score a body lock takedown but Kim shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Kim misses with some punches.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kim lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Kim lands a right hand that snaps the head of Orsic backwards. Orsic trying to control the position but instead, Kim has worked for underhooks and has pushed Orsic into the cage. Orsic lands a body punch in the clinch. Orsic tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kim lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Orsic backwards. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kim. Kim working aggressively here.
Kim working some nice short punches in the clinch. Nice body punch from Kim - that landed with a thud.
Kim tries a body shot but Orsic blocks it.
Orsic wants a takedown but no success here.
Kim lands a body punch in the clinch. A short uppercut from Kim. Orsic takes a shot to the head. Orsic is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kim gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mate Orsic. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kim lands with a right to the head. Still in the clinch, Kim scores with a nice short uppercut. Kim lands an uppercut. Orsic can't get the takedown.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Orsic decides to pull guard. Orsic keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully. Orsic seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Kim slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kim stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Orsic throws up his legs and catches Kim in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Kim tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Orsic! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Mate Orsic! After winning the bout, Mate Orsic thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
