PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trayvon Lewis (ranked 747 p4p, 409 weight class) and Terrell Knight (ranked 103 p4p, 52 weight class). Knight is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by HonestKey- Keep Fightin'. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trayvon Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terrell Knight!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight lands a nice looking body shot.
Lewis slips a straight right by Knight.
Lewis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lewis swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Lewis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Knight misses with a right hand

and Lewis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Knight wants to get back to his feet but Lewis passes into half guard.

Lewis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lewis wants to free his trapped foot but Knight is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Knight looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Knight is staying active underneath Lewis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Lewis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Knight is defending against the submission attempts here by Lewis.
Lewis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knight does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Knight is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lewis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lewis is keen to just control but Knight is a slippery customer.

Lewis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Knight holds on and takes a little breather.
Lewis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knight is keeping the position for now.
Lewis is pushing down on Knight's leg trying to pass to half guard. Knight is fighting to maintain full guard but Lewis has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've been hearing that Lewis has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Knight wants to control but Lewis is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Knight has control of Lewis's left arm, preventing Lewis from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Knight throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Knight lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Lewis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lewis lands in his opponent's guard.
Knight is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knight pulls Lewis in close to his closed guard and prevents Lewis from doing any damage or advancing position.

Lewis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Knight's guard.
Knight keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lewis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Lewis looking to sit in guard and control but Knight gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lewis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lewis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Knight doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Knight manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lewis throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Knight escapes and throws Lewis's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Knight lands a nice short elbow.
Lewis is not content to let Knight control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lewis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Knight pulls his head out easily.
Lewis is looking to control Knight's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lewis avoid being mounted?
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trayvon Lewis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

A jab from Lewis misses.

Knight changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Knight misses with the combination.
Knight swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lewis misses with an uppercut. Knight saw that one coming.
Knight looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Lewis counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Knight throws a lazy right hand but Lewis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Knight throws a left and a right that both miss

and Lewis counters with a single leg into guard. Knight didn't expect that.
Knight trying to keep a closed guard but Lewis is proving a slippery customer.
Knight looking for a sweep. Not yet Knight, not yet.

Knight lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Lewis looking for a guillotine here but Knight defends easily.
Knight slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Knight trying to control the position from guard on top but Lewis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Knight content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lewis has locked up a guillotine! Lewis's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Knight is holding on here and Lewis must be using up a lot of energy. Knight has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lewis gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Trayvon Lewis!
Trayvon Lewis bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
