Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Zhdanov (ranked 378 p4p, 919 weight class) and Patrick Kearney (ranked 54 p4p, 113 weight class). Zhdanov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Малиновая Лада (Raspberry Lada) by Gayazov$ Brother$. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhdanov clinches.
Kearney swings wildly with an uppercut but Zhdanov uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kearney lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Kearney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kearney pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kearney displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zhdanov throws out the jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Zhdanov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Zhdanov with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kearney swats away the attempt to clinch by Zhdanov.
Kearney let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Zhdanov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kearney swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kearney! But no joy.
Zhdanov takes the fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kearney throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Zhdanov tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kearney manages to circle out of the way.
Kearney takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
