PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karim Johnson (ranked 307 p4p, 303 weight class) and Henry Dustfinger (ranked 17 p4p, 16 weight class). Johnson comes into the arena with Don't say nuthin' blaring out of the sound system. Dustfinger has chosen The Bull Rider- Johnny Cash as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Karim Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Henry Dustfinger!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dustfinger tried to score with a low kick but Johnson checks it.
Dustfinger misses with a shot to the body
and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Henry Dustfinger has been cut.
Johnson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dustfinger has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Johnson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

It looks like Karim Johnson has been cut.
Johnson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Johnson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Johnson throwing a counter right hand but Dustfinger manages to avoid it.
Johnson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Dustfinger feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Johnson sprawling to the canvas! Johnson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Dustfinger finish him?!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dustfinger slips a jab from Johnson.
Johnson connects with a single shot there.
Dustfinger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Dustfinger.
Johnson blocks a jab.
Dustfinger takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Johnson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight.
Johnson slips a jab from Dustfinger.

Johnson tries to move into range but Dustfinger moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Dustfinger misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.
Johnson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A swing and a miss from Johnson.
Johnson tries a low kick but Dustfinger avoids it.
Dustfinger scores with a body shot.
A big left from Dustfinger misses.
A quick step to the side and Johnson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Dustfinger keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Johnson moves away from the strike by Dustfinger.
Johnson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Johnson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Dustfinger.
Dustfinger is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Johnson with a body shot.
Dustfinger has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Dustfinger misses with a right hand
and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dustfinger cracks Johnson with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Johnson looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Dustfinger finish him?
Johnson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
The fighters circling - Dustfinger throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
It looked like Johnson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Dustfinger might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Johnson ducks under a wild hook from Dustfinger.
Johnson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A solid leg kick lands there for Johnson.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dustfinger.
Dustfinger throws a one two combo.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dustfinger keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Johnson.
Dustfinger doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Dustfinger misses with an uppercut
and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dustfinger cracks a nice hook into Johnson's ribs.
Dustfinger connects with a body shot that sends Johnson's belly button to the back.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Johnson moves forwards but Dustfinger connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Johnson needs to keep his hands up - Dustfinger had a free shot at his head there.
Dustfinger batters Johnson with a massive right followed by a huge left! Johnson is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Dustfinger lands a final crushing right hand to drop Johnson to the mat with a gruesome thud! Dustfinger is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Henry Dustfinger!
Henry Dustfinger was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
