And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kittisak Saetang!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Hire fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Saetang.
Saetang throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Van Hire avoids the body shot from Saetang.
Van Hire connects with an inside leg kick.
Van Hire takes a kick to the side of the head.
Van Hire clinches with his opponent.
Saetang's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Saetang swings widly with a right hand
letting Van Hire counter with a right hand.
Van Hire avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Van Hire throws the kick towards the body but Saetang avoids it.
Van Hire looks to score with a jab to the body but Saetang is just out of range.
Saetang swinging wildly here.
Saetang tries a low kick but Van Hire avoids it.
Van Hire seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Saetang just misses with a punch to the body.
Van Hire lands with a good body shot.
Saetang throws a lazy head kick
and Saetang takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Van Hire chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Saetang can pounce on him.
Van Hire listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Kittisak Saetang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
An inside leg kick from Saetang misses.
Saetang throws a lazy uppercut
and Van Hire counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Saetang misses with a head kick.
Van Hire thows a body kick. Saetang tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Saetang looks winded!
Saetang tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Hire cracks Saetang with a right hand to the side of the head.
Saetang throws a leg kick
and Van Hire counters with a body kick.
Van Hire scores with a hook to the body. Saetang takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Van Hire paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Saetang is rocked!
Van Hire closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Saetang out cold! Saetang corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Whealer Van Hire!
After the fight, Whealer Van Hire was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
