Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Cross (ranked 677 p4p, 343 weight class) and Bob Bronte (ranked 21 p4p, 25 weight class). Cross comes to the cage accompanied by Folk Metal. Bronte comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Buffalo Charge by Dub Phizix and Strategy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 28 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy Cross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Bronte! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bronte shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Cross wants to stand back up but Bronte manages to pass into side control.
Cross has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Cross is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Cross wants to improve his position but Bronte is controlling well.
Bronte seems to be looking for submissions.
Bronte is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bronte seems to be looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross is refusing to be controlled, as Bronte sits in half guard. Bronte missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Bronte looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bronte is just content to waste time from the top position. Cross takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Bronte tries to free his leg and advance position but Cross is retaining full guard. Bronte won't allow Cross to get back to his feet. Bronte looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Bronte trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bronte. A countering left hand to the body from Bronte misses. Cross looks to land a right hand but Bronte moved out of range. Bronte avoids a kick to the body.
Bronte ducks under a wild hook from Cross. Bronte swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Cross connects with a crisp jab. Cross throws a hook to the side of Bronte's head but Bronte sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bronte misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jeremy Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cross throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Cross tries a head kick but it misses.
Bronte connects with a body shot that sends Cross's belly button to the back. Bronte cracks Cross with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Jeremy Cross has been cut. Bronte moves out of range of the body kick. Bronte walks into a jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bronte tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cross paws at him with a jab and circles away. An inside leg kick lands from Cross. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bronte keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cross. A big right from Cross misses. Jeremy Cross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cross is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jab from Bronte. Cross cracks Bronte with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bronte throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A close round but Bob Bronte will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jeremy Cross's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Bronte misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bronte was well out of range. Poor timing from Cross. Cross throws out a loose jab but Bronte uses good head movement to avoid it. Cross drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Bronte bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bronte blocks a jab. Cross throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bronte sees it coming and avoids it easily. Bronte let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Cross waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bronte. Bronte throws a lazy right hand but Cross sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bronte loads up on a big right hand but Cross slips the punch. Cross scores with a sloppy right hand. Bronte should have avoided that one. Jeremy Cross is winning the standup battle so far. Cross ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cross gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

and Bronte counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Bronte wants to clinch up but Cross keeps it at a distance.

enabling Bronte to counter with a crisp jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bronte's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cross under the eye.
Jeremy Cross's cut is getting worse. Cross clobbers Bronte with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Cross cracks Bronte with a right hand to the side of the head. Nice cross by Bronte. Bronte fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Cross moves out of range as Bronte strikes. Cross throws a big shot that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross throws a leg kick but Bronte checks it. Bronte wants to counter the offense by Cross and move into the clinch position. Cross catches Bronte with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Bob Bronte has been cut. Bronte moves away from the strike by Cross. Bronte shoots in but no luck this time. Bronte scores with a nice right hand.
Cross pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Bronte pushes Cross up against the cage in a clinch. Cross is trying to break the clinch but Bronte has him pressed against the cage. Bronte scores with a shoulder strike. Cross tries to work over Bronte's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Bronte tries to score a body lock takedown but Cross shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Bronte wants a takedown.
Jeremy Cross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Bronte. Bronte keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cross's efforts to push away. Bronte lands with a short shot to the head. Cross can't find room to land a body shot as Bronte controls the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bronte breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fighters circling - Cross throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Cross misses with a hook. Cross throws a quick inside leg kick. Bronte moves into range and clinches up with Cross. Bronte goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bronte lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Bronte drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A close second round but Bob Bronte will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Cross misses with a wild body shot. Bronte scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cross doesn't seem bothered though. Bronte throws a lazy uppercut
and Bronte takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cross looks to land a left hand but Bronte moved out of range nicely. Cross throws a hook but Bronte blocks it. Bronte moves into the clinch. Cross blocks a body shot from Bronte. Bronte manages to break the clinch.
Bronte steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cross. Cross takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Cross is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bronte accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bronte wants to control from the top but Cross keeps moving. Bronte drops back looking for a leg! Cross is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cross manages to kick Bronte off! Bronte jumps back into Cross's guard. Bronte has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bronte throws a strike but Cross rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross is stalling in the full guard. Bronte has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cross can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bronte looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cross seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bronte had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cross defends it easily. Jeremy Cross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cross content to stall in guard here. Bronte keeping moving, preventing Cross from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bronte tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bronte working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cross.

And that's the end of the fight! Bob Bronte comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bronte has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. In defeat, Jeremy Cross stepped up to the mic, saying 'BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON!'.
