Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ishmael Egyptian (ranked 589 p4p, 1094 weight class) and Matija Maestro (ranked 44 p4p, 83 weight class). Maestro has chosen Shortwire - Reconfig as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ishmael Egyptian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matija Maestro!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maestro misses with a looping right.
A punch combination from Egyptian misses.

Egyptian has Maestro up against the cage in a clinch.
Maestro can't get the takedown.
Maestro is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Egyptian is defending well.

We've been hearing reports that Egyptian has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Ishmael Egyptian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matija Maestro.

Egyptian escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maestro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Maestro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Egyptian has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maestro has managed to get both his arms back between Egyptian's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Egyptian isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maestro stacks Egyptian on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maestro!
Egyptian is looking to regain half guard here but Maestro keeps moving and retains side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ishmael Egyptian will probably get the nod.
