Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nord Licht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deontay DJ!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DJ has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from DJ there as he acknowledges the shot.
A cross from Licht lands.
Licht throws a hook to the side of DJ's head but DJ sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Licht connects with a jab.
A lazy body kick from DJ
and Licht counters with a straight right hand.
Licht is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
A telegraphed right hand from DJ misses the target.
Licht blocks a jab.
A little feinted left hand from Licht on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Licht shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
DJ throws a combination that misses
and DJ takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
DJ misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Licht lands a jab to the nose.
Licht has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Nord Licht seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
DJ avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from DJ! But no joy.
DJ takes a swing at Licht's ribcage but misses.
DJ displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Licht throws out the jab.
A combination from DJ does no damage.
DJ walks into a straight right hand from Licht.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Licht lands a nice shot to the body.
Licht scores with a crisp jab that stopped DJ in his tracks.
DJ takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
DJ is rocked!
DJ bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Licht comes at him with an uppercut from hell! DJ falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! DJ was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nord Licht!
Nord Licht seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
