Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Young (ranked 178 p4p, 443 weight class) and Bob Bronte (ranked 12 p4p, 32 weight class). Young comes to the cage accompanied by Real Ganja Man. The crowd seem to be enjoying Bronte's choice of entrance music: Buffalo Charge by Dub Phizix and Strategy. Bob Bronte has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fred Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Bronte!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bronte sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bronte looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
An attempted straight right counter from Young misses the target.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A head kick by Young misses
enabling Bronte to counter with a crisp jab.
Young connects with a crisp jab.

It looks like Bob Bronte has been cut.

Young ducks straight into an uppercut from Bronte and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Young manages to regain guard straight away.

It looks like Fred Young has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bronte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Young swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Young wants to stand and escape but Bronte is having none of it.
Bronte looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Young definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Young avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bronte stops Young from standing up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bronte is looking to work some ground and pound but Young has wrist control.
Bronte wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Young moves out of range of the strikes.
Young is looking to counter punch.
Young throws a hook to the side of Bronte's head but Bronte sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Young misses the jab.
Young throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bronte sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bronte tests Young's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Young lands with an uppercut that bounces Bronte off the cage and back into range.

Bronte instigates a clinch.
Bronte lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Young backwards.
Bronte scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Bronte digs a right hand into Young's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Young's gas tank.
Young is breathing heavily.
Bronte lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Bronte working some nice short punches in the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Young goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Bronte.
Bronte blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Bronte is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Young can't fight it off and eventually Bronte manages to take the fight to the floor. Young looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bronte slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bronte advances nicely into full mount.
Bronte tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bronte trying to control but Young is having none of it.
Young is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Bronte landing strikes from the mount.
Bronte landing strikes, looking to finish!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bronte tries to control but Young wriggling away.

Bronte looking to secure an arm triangle but Young defends it well.
Bronte fails to move to back control.
Young takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Bronte trying to control but Young is having none of it.
Poor strikes thrown by Bronte there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Bronte content just to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Young wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Bronte unloads with some shots from mount but Young bucks and avoids them well.
You get the feeling that Young really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Young is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Bronte has taken his back!

Young defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Bronte's arms.

Bronte is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Young has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bronte has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Young taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bronte doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bob Bronte!
Bob Bronte decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
