Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Yarborough (ranked 999 p4p, 124 weight class) and Dusty Rhodes (ranked 127 p4p, 13 weight class). Yarborough comes to the cage accompanied by Derezzed. Rhodes has chosen Bury My Bones as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Yarborough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dusty Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rhodes clinches up against the cage.
Yarborough throws a head punch that misses.
Rhodes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Yarborough to keep the fight standing.
Rhodes is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Rhodes successfully pulls guard.
Yarborough is stalling in the full guard.
Rhodes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rhodes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rhodes keeping moving, preventing Yarborough from controlling successfully.

Rhodes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yarborough is one step ahead there.
Rhodes pulls Yarborough in close to prevent any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

and Yarborough takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like James Yarborough has been cut.
Yarborough connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Yarborough takes a swing at Rhodes's ribcage but misses.

Yarborough jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Yarborough ducks under a wild hook from Rhodes.
Yarborough circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yarborough lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rhodes connects with a nice looking jab.
Yarborough misses the shot to the body.
A little jabbing left from Rhodes on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Rhodes lands a jab to Yarborough's midsection.
A combination from Yarborough does no damage.
Yarborough jabs at Rhodes's body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Yarborough fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Rhodes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Yarborough did well to prevent Rhodes getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rhodes wants to take a breather but Yarborough is having none of it.
Rhodes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Yarborough's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rhodes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Yarborough sees it coming and defends easily.
Rhodes with the ground and pound but Yarborough uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Yarborough keeping moving, preventing Rhodes from controlling successfully.
Rhodes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rhodes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Yarborough works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rhodes wants to control from the top but Yarborough keeps moving.
Rhodes sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rhodes wants to control from the top but Yarborough keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rhodes throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Yarborough on the side of the head.
Rhodes slips a straight right by Yarborough.
Yarborough misses with an uppercut
and Rhodes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Yarborough misses with a body shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yarborough rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rhodes counters with a nice uppercut.

Yarborough is rocked!

James Yarborough's cut is getting worse.
Yarborough lunges at Rhodes with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rhodes's hand.
BOOM! Rhodes lands a beautiful left hook that drops Yarborough. Yarborough tries to recover but Rhodes is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Yarborough lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dusty Rhodes!
Dusty Rhodes seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
