Coming up we have a bantamweight kickboxing rules bout between Koos Van Asch (ranked 968 p4p, 22091 weight class) and Tang Maul (ranked 77 p4p, 343 weight class). Maul has chosen Somewhere I Belong as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Koos Van Asch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tang Maul! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Asch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Maul raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Van Asch looks to land a right hand but Maul moved out of range. Maul was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Van Asch looks to throw a body kick and Maul counters with a lovely straight right hand! Van Asch misses with a wild body shot. Van Asch throws a jab but it's blocked by Maul. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maul ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Maul throws out a counter right but Van Asch avoids it with no problem. Van Asch loads up on a big right hand but Maul slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Asch chopping away at his opponent's legs.

and Maul cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Van Asch throws a right hand that misses
and Maul counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Van Asch throws a front kick that sends Maul stumbling back into the ropes. Van Asch misses with a hook. Maul ducked under it nicely. Maul throws out a counter right but Van Asch avoids it with no problem. Van Asch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maul moves away. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maul keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Maul is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Van Asch with a body shot. Van Asch has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight. Nice body kick there by Van Asch. Van Asch misses with a two punch combination.

and Maul counters with a stiff right hand. Koos Van Asch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Van Asch lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Maul bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Koos Van Asch dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Maul takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Van Asch moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromMaul. Van Asch fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Maul has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Van Asch throws a head kick that half lands.

and Maul counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Van Asch throws out a leg kick but Maul moves out of range and Van Asch only half commits.

Maul throws a fast counter high kick but Van Asch manages to duck under it in time. Van Asch takes a swing at Maul's ribcage but misses. Maul shapes to counter with a head kick. Van Asch throws a poor cross that misses
and Maul counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. An inside leg kick lands from Van Asch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Van Asch is looking to slow Maul down with leg kicks. Maul ducks under a wild hook from Van Asch. Maul raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Koos Van Asch dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Van Asch misses with an uppercut. Van Asch throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Maul's head. A looping hook to the body misses from Van Asch. Maul does a little dance to reset his feet. A shot to the body from Van Asch misses and Maul counters with a nice leg kick. Van Asch lands with a slapping head kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Asch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Van Asch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Maul can do to turn this around? Van Asch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Maul was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Asch tries a low kick but Maul avoids it. A countering left hand to the body from Maul misses. Maul takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Van Asch lands with a kick to the temple. Maul shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Maul takes one to the side of the head.

and Maul cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Maul uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Van Asch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Asch throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Maul only half commits to the counter leg kick. A jab from Van Asch finds it's way through Maul's defenses. Van Asch looks to land a body kick but Maul moved away. Koos Van Asch is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Van Asch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Maul ducks under a wild hook from Van Asch. Tang Maul has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Maul blocks a head kick by Van Asch.

And that's the end of the fight! Koos Van Asch showed his dominance in that final round. Well Van Asch has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
