Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andor Kovacs (ranked 2299 p4p, 2100 weight class) and Eli Vieira (ranked 260 p4p, 240 weight class). Eli Vieira has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Andor Kovacs's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Andor Kovacs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eli Vieira! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovacs scores with a hook to the body. Vieira takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Vieira misses with a hook
and Kovacs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Vieira lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kovacs has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kovacs and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. An attempted straight right counter from Kovacs misses the target. A head kick misses from Kovacs. Kovacs lands the left hand. Kovacs throws a hook but Vieira blocks it. Vieira slips under a jab from Kovacs. Kovacs throws a combination that misses and Vieira decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kovacs's guard. Kovacs looking for a guillotine here but Vieira defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kovacs pulls Vieira in close to his closed guard and prevents Vieira from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovacs has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vieira can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kovacs has control of Vieira's left arm, preventing Vieira from doing any damage. Kovacs can't keep his opponent in guard - Vieira advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Vieira is just content to waste time from the top position. Kovacs takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kovacs is on top in guard.
Vieira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kovacs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Vieira is tightening it up a little... Kovacs has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kovacs reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kovacs taps out! Nice BJJ there by Vieira!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Eli Vieira! A pretty intense looking Eli Vieira took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title. Andor Kovacs spoke after the fight, saying 'Tnough lost , i want bum phillps next'.
