Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blonde Brunson (ranked 1207 p4p, 1082 weight class) and Jimmy Jackman (ranked 103 p4p, 92 weight class). Blonde Brunson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blonde Brunson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Jackman! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brunson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Brunson trying to control the action but Jackman is working from the bottom. Brunson cracks Jackman with a big elbow. Brunson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jackman has escaped the position, nice work there. Jackman avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brunson. Brunson scores with a couple of short elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brunson in side control, throwing shots but Jackman defends. Jackman manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackman works his way into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jackman lands a few punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackman scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Brunson to see if he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brunson is trying to get back to half guard. Brunson is trying to work for a sweep but Jackman has mounted him! Jackman lands a couple of good shots and Brunson has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Jackman is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Brunson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Brunson regains half guard. Brunson regains full guard. Nicely done. Jackman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jackman stopping the sweep attempt from Brunson. Brunson working a defensive guard but Jackman manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brunson is looking for a sweep. Jackman wants to control but Brunson is keeping him busy. Brunson is trying to control Jackman's posture but Jackman avoids it. Jackman cracks Brunson with a big right hand but Brunson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jackman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Jackman trying to control the position but Brunson is working away. Brunson is looking to reverse the position. Brunson is not content to let Jackman control the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brunson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Brunson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jackman connects with a decent elbow. Jackman trying to control the position but Brunson is working away. Jackman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Brunson some visible discomfort.
Brunson is trying to control Jackman's posture but Jackman avoids it. Brunson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jackman's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Brunson taking some punishment here, with Jackman in his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brunson tries to get to full guard but Jackman has control of the leg. Brunson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jackman pulls his head out easily. Jackman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Brunson defending well though. Jackman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brunson keeps working. Jackman looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Jackman prevents Brunson from improving his position. Brunson looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Jackman tries to pass to full mount but Brunson defends it. Brunson looking for submissions off his back. Brunson is looking to improve his position.
Brunson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jackman pulls his head out easily. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackman in particular looking to stall. Brunson is pressing down on Jackman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jackman is in close to Brunson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brunson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackman has managed to get both his arms back between Brunson's legs - danger averted. Jackman wants to control from the top but Brunson keeps moving. Brunson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackman's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brunson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Jackman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brunson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jackman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brunson is one step ahead there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brunson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brunson looking to pass the guard. Brunson being controlled here momentarily. Jackman has a closed guard, preventing Brunson from standing up. Brunson stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Jackman throws up his legs and catches Brunson in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Brunson tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Jackman! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jimmy Jackman! A relieved looking Jimmy Jackman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
