Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Cortes (ranked 1678 p4p, 2728 weight class) and Miami Vice (ranked 214 p4p, 308 weight class). Vice is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Miami Vice Theme. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thiago Cortes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miami Vice!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vice throws a lazy right hand but Cortes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cortes looks to score with a jab to the body but Vice is just out of range.
Vice tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cortes counters with a head kick. That will keep Vice thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Vice gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cortes counters with a nice kick to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Vice misses the target.
Vice misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Miami Vice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Cortes finds it's way through Vice's defenses.
It looks like Miami Vice has been cut.
Cortes slips a straight right by Vice.
Vice throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cortes avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vice blocks a head kick by Cortes.
Vice misses with a wild combination.
A quick step to the side and Cortes tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cortes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vice.

Cortes has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Chikara MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Vice is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

and Vice counters with a stiff right hand.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vice looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Cortes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Cortes ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Vice fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Cortes thumps Vice with a low kick.
Vice misses the body punch
and Vice takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Vice bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cortes's head.
Cortes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vice manages to avoid it.
Vice throws a lazy right hand but Cortes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vice lands a nice looking body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cortes looks to land a body kick but Vice moved away.
Vice lands with a kick to the temple. Cortes shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vice misses with a left hand
and Cortes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cortes lands a big head kick that sends Vice tumbling to the mat! Cortes takes a step backwards and waves Vice back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Vice throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cortes.
Vice walks into a straight right hand from Cortes.
Vice throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Cortes thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Vice if he has to take too many more of those.
Cortes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Vice misses with a left hand
and Cortes counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Vice walks forward, straight into a front kick from Cortes.
Vice looks winded!
Vice scores with a jab to the jaw.
Cortes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Vice.
Cortes jabs at Vice's body.
Vice misses with an uppercut.
Vice tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cortes swats away the attempt to clinch by Vice.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Cortes.
Vice on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Cortes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Vice. Vice circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That has opened up Miami Vice's cut even more.
Cortes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vice moves away.
A nice side step and Vice releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Cortes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Vice's head.
Cortes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Cortes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Vice sprawling to the canvas! Vice rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cortes finish him?!
Vice is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cortes lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Vice crumples to the floor! Cortes milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Thiago Cortes!
A relieved looking Thiago Cortes thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
