Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Nichols (ranked 757 p4p, 1316 weight class) and Anwar Hussin (ranked 111 p4p, 177 weight class). Hussin has chosen Shooting Stars ft. Toro y moi (Flume Cover) as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Nichols! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anwar Hussin! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hussin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Nichols definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Nice uppercut lands for Nichols. That snapped Hussin's head back.
Nichols misses with a leg kick and Hussin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hussin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hussin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nichols sees it coming and defends easily. Hussin controlling the action here. Hussin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nichols doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hussin. Nichols is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nichols has hold of Hussin's hands but Hussin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Hussin not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hussin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hussin drops an elbow to the side of Nichols's head. Hussin wants to control but Nichols is keeping him busy. Hussin is working for a kimura but Nichols is defending it quite comfortably.

Hussin shoots in for a double leg but Nichols sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hussin shoots in but Nichols avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hussin trying to control the position from guard on top but Nichols is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hussin throws a big right hand that misses. Hussin stops Nichols from standing up. Hussin stopping the sweep attempt from Nichols. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nichols wants to stand and escape but Hussin is having none of it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nichols connects with a body shot. Hussin drives through and clinches with Nichols against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Nichols. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Paul Nichols will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Anwar Hussin's cut. That's time! Nichols's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Nichols throws a one two combo.
Paul Nichols is winning the standup battle so far. Nichols stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hussin moves into the clinch. Hussin on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nichols lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Hussin dodges an elbow strike from Nichols.

Hussin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nichols's head. Nichols working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hussin. Hussin lands a couple of elbows. Nichols knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hussin on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hussin throwing strikes but missing.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hussin connects with a nice short shot to Nichols's temple. Hussin prevents Nichols from standing back up.

Nichols scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Nichols throws a right and a left that Hussin avoids nicely. Hussin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Hussin misses with a takedown and Nichols cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nichols lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Nichols's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Nichols duly obliges. Nichols cracks Hussin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Donk. Nichols catches Hussin right on the button with a cross. Hussin shoots in but Nichols avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nichols throwing a counter right hand but Hussin manages to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nichols changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Hussin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Hussin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nichols was covering up waiting for the punch and Hussin finishes the takedown easily into guard. Anwar Hussin has got the better of the ground game so far. Hussin wants to control from the top but Nichols keeps moving. Hussin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hussin slips nicely into half guard. Hussin controlling the action here. Hussin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nichols on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hussin looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hussin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hussin wants to take a breather but Nichols is having none of it. Hussin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hussin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hussin on the wrong end of a nice hook. A low kick from Nichols is predictable there and Hussin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Nichols! Hussin tries to advance to mount but Nichols denies him. Hussin fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hussin cracks Nichols with a big right hand but Nichols just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The strikes coming from Hussin are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Hussin trying to control the position but Nichols is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hussin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nichols haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Hussin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nichols has escaped the position, nice work there. Nichols managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hussin.
And that's the end of the fight! Paul Nichols showed his dominance in that final round. I think Nichols has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Paul Nichols! Paul Nichols tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
