Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juan Carlos (ranked 1021 p4p, 809 weight class) and Eddie Ryan (ranked 111 p4p, 88 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Ryan.
Ryan blocks an elbow strike from Carlos.
Carlos tries to score a body lock takedown but Ryan shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Ryan lands a hook that snaps the head of Carlos backwards.
Ryan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Carlos's elbow.
Ryan stops a takedown attempt from Carlos.
Ryan prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juan Carlos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carlos tries to throw a body punch but Ryan avoids it by throwing Carlos back against the cage.
Ryan lands with a short shot to the head.
Carlos lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ryan pulls Carlos into guard.
Carlos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Carlos throwing strikes from guard but Ryan blocks nicely.
Ryan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carlos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carlos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ryan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carlos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Carlos wants to pass the guard but Ryan is keeping the position.
Ryan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Carlos passes Ryan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carlos thows a huge punch but Ryan dodges it nicely.
Carlos not doing much here.
Carlos is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Ryan reverses the position - he's now on top in Carlos's guard.
Ryan won't allow Carlos to sweep him here.

Carlos has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ryan has passed into side control.
Carlos is looking for a sweep.

Carlos sneaks back into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlos is holding on to half guard well.
Carlos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ryan is working away from the top position though.
Carlos is trying to stand up here but Ryan is controlling him well.
Carlos is trying to control Ryan's posture. Ryan takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Carlos! Ryan is rotating here... this could be the end... Carlos is out! Ryan has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
