Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ike Goon (ranked 1793 p4p, 1372 weight class) and Tiago Tomate (ranked 241 p4p, 185 weight class). Tomate is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by “Danger! High Voltage”, by Electric Six. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Goon.
Tomate throws a nice outside leg kick.
Goon throws a head kick but Tomate moves out of range.
Tomate looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Tomate connects with an inside leg kick.
Goon misses with a body kick.
Tomate jabs at Goon's body.
A cross from Tomate lands.
Tomate fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Goon on the side of the head.

Tomate tries to work over Goon's front leg with a kick but Goon checks it.
Tomate is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Goon misses with a hook to the body
and Tomate finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Goon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Goon closes the distance and clinches.
Goon lands a right hand that snaps the head of Tomate backwards.

Goon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tomate gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Goon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tomate digs a right hand into Goon's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Goon's gas tank.
Goon throws a punch but it's blocked by Tomate.

Tomate pushes off an throws an elbow but Goon leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Tomate unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Goon! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Tomate is unloading with more strikes now! Goon drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
