Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joad Cressbeckler (ranked 719 p4p, 734 weight class) and Armad Bates (ranked 107 p4p, 108 weight class). Cressbeckler comes to the cage accompanied by American Remains. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Bates counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Bates has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

It looks like Armad Bates has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bates scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Bates throws a nice looking combination but Cressbeckler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cressbeckler dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bates. That did some damage!
Bates dives in and grabs Cressbeckler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cressbeckler pushes down on Bates's head and hops out.

Bates has managed to clinch.
Bates is trying to drag Cressbeckler to the mat but Cressbeckler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Cressbeckler lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Bates is breathing heavily.

Cressbeckler feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Bates sprawling to the canvas! Bates rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cressbeckler finish him?!
Cressbeckler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cressbeckler. Bates does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bates misses with a straight right.
Bates blocks a jab.
Cressbeckler takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bates tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bates cracks Cressbeckler with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Cressbeckler lands a big uppercut and Bates crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Bates looks OK. Cressbeckler waves Bates back to his feet!
Cressbeckler is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Bates flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Bates is out cold! Cressbeckler holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
