Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Saul Tacarante (ranked 797 p4p, 1015 weight class) and Otto McBean (ranked 60 p4p, 76 weight class). Otto McBean has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saul Tacarante!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Otto McBean!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from McBean misses
and Tacarante counters with a one-two to the body.
Tacarante throws a good cross that connects.
Tacarante misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McBean.
Tacarante tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McBean was well out of range. Poor timing from Tacarante.
McBean feints the counter takedown.
A big right from Tacarante misses.
A shot to the liver by Tacarante. Beautiful body shot.
McBean looks for a takedown but Tacarante sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McBean looks to land a combination. Tacarante sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
A looping hook to the body misses from McBean. Tacarante does a little dance to reset his feet.
McBean throws a body shot but no joy.

McBean fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tacarante connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McBean's hands.
McBean shoots in but Tacarante avoids the takedown attempt easily.

McBean shoots in and bounces Tacarante off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Tacarante has McBean pulled in close to control his posture.

McBean wants to pass the guard but Tacarante is keeping the position.
Tacarante keeping moving, preventing McBean from controlling successfully.
Tacarante knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McBean on the ground.
McBean tries to free his leg and advance position but Tacarante is retaining full guard.

McBean drops back looking for a leg! Tacarante is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tacarante manages to kick McBean off! McBean jumps back into Tacarante's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tacarante is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McBean defends well.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Tacarante had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McBean defends it easily.
Tacarante trying to keep a closed guard but McBean is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
McBean looks for a takedown but Tacarante sprawls well.
Saul Tacarante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Otto McBean.
Tacarante shoots in but no luck this time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McBean jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McBean lands with a right hand.
McBean bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McBean tries to clinch but Tacarante moves away
and Tacarante counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Nice defenses there by McBean.
McBean with the counter takedown but Tacarante avoids it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Tacarante as McBean shoots in.

Tacarante throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McBean tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tacarante is in McBean's guard.

McBean is looking for a triangle but Tacarante pushes his legs off easily.

McBean looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and McBean counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McBean is pushing down on Tacarante's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tacarante is fighting to maintain full guard but McBean has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tacarante wants to control but McBean is keeping busy and won't allow it.

McBean is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

McBean is working for a kimura but Tacarante is defending it quite comfortably.

McBean is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tacarante has managed to free his arm - good work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tacarante works his way to full guard. Good work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tacarante wants to improve his position but instead McBean has moved into half guard.

McBean is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tacarante doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McBean.

McBean is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
McBean thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Tacarante wants to hold on but McBean pushes him away.
McBean tries to control but Tacarante wriggling away.
Tacarante tries to hold on but McBean postures up.
Tacarante squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

McBean goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tacarante is on top in guard.

Tacarante controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Tacarante continues to stall.

McBean has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tacarante can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McBean wants to sweep here but Tacarante controlling him for the moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Otto McBean showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McBean in particular looking to stall.

McBean seems to be working for a kimura but Tacarante defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McBean is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tacarante is just riding it out for now. McBean eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McBean throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

McBean is working for a kimura but Tacarante is defending it quite comfortably.
McBean wants to control but Tacarante is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Otto McBean comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think McBean has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
