Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Suriyan Sitsongrit (ranked 381 p4p, 776 weight class) and Ulysses Battleby (ranked 31 p4p, 65 weight class). Ulysses Battleby told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Suriyan Sitsongrit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ulysses Battleby!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sitsongrit slips under a jab from Battleby.
Sitsongrit jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Battleby slips under a jab from Sitsongrit.
Battleby's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sitsongrit connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Battleby scrambles back to his feet.
Suriyan Sitsongrit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sitsongrit is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Battleby.
Battleby blocks a low kick nicely.
Sitsongrit misses with a lunging right hand
and Battleby counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Battleby. Sitsongrit does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Battleby fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sitsongrit manages to avoid it.

It looks like Suriyan Sitsongrit has been cut.
Battleby misses with a kick to the body
and Sitsongrit counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sitsongrit jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Sitsongrit feints and then cracks Battleby's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Battleby down.
Sitsongrit throws a wild body kick that Battleby sees coming a mile off.
Battleby is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Sitsongrit with a body shot.
Sitsongrit misses with a right hand
and Battleby counters with a leg kick.
Battleby throws a hook but Sitsongrit avoids it easily.

Both fighters circling a little - Sitsongrit finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Battleby walks into a left hand.
Sitsongrit dips to his left and cracks Battleby with an uppercut!
Battleby is rocked!
Battleby is aggressively charging in as Sitsongrit backs up avoiding any damage. Sitsongrit tosses out a jab and Battleby runs right into it face first! Battleby is out cold! Sitsongrit dropped down on all fours and is barking in Battleby's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Suriyan Sitsongrit!
Suriyan Sitsongrit was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
