Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kobra Jay (ranked 951 p4p, 1788 weight class) and Akubundu Yobachukwu (ranked 114 p4p, 214 weight class). Yobachukwu has chosen Hate Me Now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yobachukwu misses with a left hand
and Jay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Yobachukwu's coach down at Gold Samurai's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Yobachukwu's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Jay tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Yobachukwu's elbow.

I was talking to Jay's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Jay gets through Yobachukwu's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Yobachukwu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jay closes the distance and pushes Yobachukwu back into the cage.

Jay throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Yobachukwu on the side of the head.
That has opened up Akubundu Yobachukwu's cut even more.
Yobachukwu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jay lands a glancing blow to the side of Yobachukwu's head.

Jay cracks Yobachukwu with a hook to the temple - Yobachukwu is on wobbly legs here! Jay swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Yobachukwu falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Jay wins by TKO!
