Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mick Marsden (ranked 764 p4p, 1807 weight class) and Simo Hayha (ranked 97 p4p, 233 weight class). Marsden comes to the cage accompanied by Brick - Ben Folds Five. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Simo Hayha was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mick Marsden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Simo Hayha!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayha fails to land with a series of punches.
Marsden throws the left hand but Hayha avoids the punch easily.
Hayha appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Marsden takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A telegraphed right hand from Hayha misses the target.
Marsden fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marsden catches Hayha with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Marsden looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hayha misses with a few strikes there.
Hayha slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hayha defending well as Marsden loads up on a big left hand.
Hayha moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hayha jabs Marsden to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hayha looks to land a combination. Marsden sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marsden gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Hayha throws an off balance right hand
and Marsden counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hayha ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marsden moves away.
Marsden thinks about countering with a body kick.

Marsden dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Marsden takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hayha throws a body shot but no joy.
Marsden takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Marsden lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Simo Hayha has been cut.
Hayha misses with an uppercut. Marsden saw that one coming.
Marsden keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hayha has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hayha connects with the punch.
Marsden does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hayha looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Marsden slips under a jab from Hayha.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hayha misses with the combination.
Marsden on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Marsden misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hayha gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Hayha misses with a body punch
and as Hayha loses concentration momentarily, Marsden counters with a picture perfect head kick! Hayha goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mick Marsden!
After winning the bout, Mick Marsden thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
