PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pate Boxeri (ranked 1019 p4p, 3872 weight class) and Zander Fisher (ranked 89 p4p, 263 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zander Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher throws a right hand that Boxeri ducks under and follows up with a left that Boxeri also avoids with ease.
Fisher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Boxeri scores with a shot to the body.
Fisher bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fisher looks to clinch
letting Boxeri counter with a right hand.
Boxeri's corner calls for a 1-2. Boxeri obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Boxeri ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fisher moves away.
Boxeri throws a lazy right hand but Fisher sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Fisher shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boxeri defends it nicely.
Fisher needs to keep his hands up - Boxeri had a free shot at his head there.
Fisher gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Boxeri digs a good body shot into Fisher's ribs.

Fisher takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Fisher moves out of range as Boxeri strikes.
Fisher slips under a jab from Boxeri.
Boxeri's corner calls for a 1-2. Boxeri obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Fisher tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boxeri paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fisher shoots in looking for a takedown. Boxeri tries to sprawl out of it but Fisher keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boxeri manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fisher shoots in but Boxeri avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pate Boxeri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zander Fisher.
Boxeri changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Boxeri looks to land a right hand but Fisher moved out of range.
Fisher drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Boxeri defends it well.
Fisher takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Boxeri throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fisher slips a jab from Boxeri.
Fisher tries to counter with a clinch but Boxeri shakes him off and moves away.
Fisher ducks under a wild hook from Boxeri.
A countering left hand to the body from Fisher misses.
Boxeri fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fisher looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fisher has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Boxeri finds it's way round the side to connect with Fisher's head.

A jab from Boxeri finds it's way through Fisher's defenses.
Fisher uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Boxeri.
Boxeri seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Boxeri lands with a shot to the body.
Boxeri throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fisher sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Boxeri is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boxeri fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Boxeri scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Boxeri stuns Fisher with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Boxeri cracks Fisher with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Fisher looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Boxeri finish him?
Pate Boxeri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fisher gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Boxeri gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
