Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toshika Koga (ranked 2394 p4p, 2219 weight class) and Andre Koefti (ranked 230 p4p, 214 weight class). Koefti has chosen IZ - E Ala E as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toshika Koga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andre Koefti!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koga takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Koga closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Koefti to the mat! Koefti manages to get full guard.

Koga is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've been hearing good reports from Koga's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koga shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Koefti as he jumps to the side.
Koga walks into a stiff left hand from Koefti.
Koefti throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Koefti counters with a straight right hand.
Koga tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Koga throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Koefti tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Koga is in Koefti's guard.

Whack! Koefti lands a heavy head kick that drops Koga. The ref tackles Koefti to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Koga was done.

Andre Koefti was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
