Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Fu (ranked 5655 p4p, 2771 weight class) and Toshika Koga (ranked 454 p4p, 273 weight class). Tommy Fu could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Toshika Koga's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Fu ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toshika Koga! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koga has his takedown stuffed and Fu counters with a straight right hand. Koga shoots in and gets a takedown into Fu 's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fu wants to stand and escape but Koga is having none of it. Koga showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like Koga might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fu can't keep his opponent in guard - Koga advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Koga prevents Fu from standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koga is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Let's hope that Koga has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Fu wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. We've been told by Fu 's head coaches at Steel Penn Training Den that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Koga shoots in but Fu avoids the takedown attempt easily. Koga fails with a takedown attempt. Tommy Fu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toshika Koga. Koga has his takedown stuffed and Fu counters with a left and a right that stings Koga. Fu explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Koga shoots in for a double leg but Fu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Koga tries for a takedown but Fu circles away easily and Fu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Fu connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Koga has his takedown stuffed and Fu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Koga looks winded! Fu cracks Koga with a good jab. Tommy Fu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice straight punches there by Fu . You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fu . Koga with a lazy takedown attempt and Fu makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Koga really felt that one! Koga gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Fu counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Fu . Koga tries for a takedown but Fu circles away easily and Fu counters with a lovely shot to the body. Toshika Koga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fu uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Koga has time to react.
Koga is rocked! Fu scores with a leg kick.
Koga is still on wobbly legs! Can Fu finish him? Fu lands a brutal head kick. Koga looks out on his feet and Fu throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Tommy Fu ! Tommy Fu decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
