Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iov Kuzmin (ranked 734 p4p, 996 weight class) and Khalil Burnett (ranked 95 p4p, 137 weight class). Kuzmin comes into the arena with La Caution - Thé à la Menthe blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Iov Kuzmin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khalil Burnett!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burnett connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Burnett misses with a lunging right hand
and Kuzmin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Burnett misses with a left hand
enabling Kuzmin to counter with a crisp jab.
Burnett throws a lazy uppercut
and Burnett takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kuzmin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Burnett.
Burnett rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Kuzmin counter with a right hand.
Kuzmin slips under a jab from Burnett.
A big left from Burnett misses.

Burnett waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kuzmin.
Burnett lands a head shot.
Burnett looks to land a combination but Kuzmin avoids it well.
Burnett throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kuzmin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kuzmin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burnett throws out the jab.
Burnett closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burnett lands a left hand.
Burnett tries to throw a body punch but Kuzmin avoids it by throwing Burnett back against the cage.
Burnett lands a body punch.
Burnett lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Burnett lands a shoulder strike.
Kuzmin blocks a body shot from Burnett.
Burnett misses with a punch to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kuzmin breaks from the clinch.
Kuzmin ducks right into an uppercut from Burnett.
Burnett lands a jab to the head.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Burnett throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kuzmin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Burnett throws a body punch but Kuzmin moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burnett fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Burnett tries to clinch but Kuzmin is having none of it.
Kuzmin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Kuzmin misses the target.
Burnett throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Kuzmin counter with a right hand.
It looks like Kuzmin has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Burnett tries to close the distance and clinch but Kuzmin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Burnett swings widly with a right hand
and Kuzmin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Burnett lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burnett keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Burnett might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Burnett misses with a looping right.
Kuzmin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Burnett throws a looping overhand right but Kuzmin ducks down to avoid it.
and Burnett counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Kuzmin! He's just covering up as Burnett starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Khalil Burnett!
