Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Doo Ho Choi (ranked 5297 p4p, 3844 weight class) and Will Trapp (ranked 347 p4p, 275 weight class). Choi comes to the cage accompanied by Superman theme. Doo Ho Choi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Doo Ho Choi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Will Trapp! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Choi scores with a jab to the head.
Choi connects with the punch. Nice shot lands for Choi. Choi throws a head kick that misses and Choi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Trapp swings for the body but Choi moves out of range.
Choi scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Trapp throws a sloppy body shot
and Choi counters with an outside leg kick.
Trapp has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A solid body kick from Choi. Trapp scores with a hook to the body. Choi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Choi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trapp throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Trapp throws a body punch but Choi moves out of range. A little feinted left hand from Choi on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Choi misses with a combination
enabling Trapp to counter with a crisp jab. Choi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Choi throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Trapp throws out a counter right but Choi avoids it with no problem. Trapp throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Choi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Trapp swings and misses with a shot to the body and Choi counters with a straight right hand. Trapp throws a body shot but no joy. Choi jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Choi lands a head shot. Choi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Trapp. Trapp circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Choi throws a jab but it's blocked by Trapp. Choi connects with a looping right hand.
Choi tries to score with a low kick but Trapp moves his leg out of the way. Trapp throws out a counter right but Choi avoids it with no problem. Choi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Trapp feints the counter takedown. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trapp swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Trapp fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Choi manages to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trapp uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Choi is rocked! Choi misses with a wild body shot. Oh Choi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Trapp misses with a wild body shot. Choi throws out a loose jab but Trapp uses good head movement to avoid it. Choi seems to have got his legs back now. Trapp will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A looping hook to the body misses from Trapp. Choi does a little dance to reset his feet. Trapp dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Trapp swings away with a body shot that misses
and Choi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Choi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Trapp. Trapp is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Choi rather than just go for the knockout. Trapp misses with a body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trapp stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A good leg kick by Choi. Choi gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Trapp gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Choi is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Will Trapp!
