Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dan Gable (ranked 983 p4p, 1128 weight class) and Dill Nickle (ranked 94 p4p, 106 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Gable! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dill Nickle! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gable closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nickle circles away. Nickle tries to counter by closing the distance. Gable avoids the body shot from Nickle.
Nickle throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Gable shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nickle as he avoids it easily. Gable looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Nickle wants to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nickle pushes Gable off but Gable dives into side control.
Gable moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Nickle is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gable is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gable wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nickle keeps working. Nickle wants to get back to his feet but Gable drags him back down. Gable tries to score with some ground and pound. Nickle controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Gable working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nickle tries to escape but Gable is in control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gable looks for a takedown but Nickle sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Gable. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gable displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nickle throws out the jab. Gable fails with a takedown attempt. Nickle scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gable clobbers Nickle with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Gable throws a poor cross that misses
and Nickle counters with a right hand to the body. Gable shoots in looking for a takedown but Nickle manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gable's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nickle throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nickle lands with a shot to the body. Nickle looks to land a left hand but Gable moved out of range nicely. Gable appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Nickle lands with a shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nickle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gable shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nickle pinned against the cage. Nickle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nickle wants to counter with a clinch but Gable pushes him away. Nickle throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gable throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nickle's waist but Nickle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gable off to one side. Gable closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nickle quickly recovers to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nickle is trying to stand.
We've been hearing that Gable has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nickle is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dill Nickle dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Nickle lands a body shot.
Gable gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Nickle counter with a right hand. Nickle takes a swing at Gable's ribcage but misses. Gable tries to counter with a takedown but Nickle is quick to defend against it. Gable is looking to slow Nickle down with leg kicks. Gable misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gable fails with the takedown. Nickle looks like he wants to counter punch here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Gable. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nickle has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gable misses with a looping left. Gable keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nickle.

and Gable counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Nickle! Nickle is pushing Gable's head away, looking to escape. Gable manages to hold on to the position though. Dan Gable overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gable tries for a kimura but Nickle is defending well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nickle wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Gable throwing shots but missing, from side control. Nickle explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Nice takedown defense from Nickle. No joy for Gable on that attempt. Dill Nickle seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gable throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nickle was covering up waiting for the punch and Gable finishes the takedown easily into guard. Nickle scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gable shoots in for a double leg but Nickle sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nickle lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Dill Nickle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gable slips a jab and a cross from Nickle.

Nickle is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Gable rather than just go for the knockout. Nickle misses with a double jab.

Dill Nickle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Gable doesn't succeed with the takedown and Nickle counters with a left to the body. Gable shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nickle pinned against the cage. Nickle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nickle looks to land a left hand but Gable moved out of range nicely. Gable attempts a counter takedown but Nickle avoids it well and moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gable tests Nickle's chin there with a solid looking shot. Dill Nickle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nickle missing with a left hand there. Gable was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Gable tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nickle swivels and escapes. And Nickle tries to counter it with a takedown but Gable pushes his down on his head and steps out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Gable. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gable wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nickle lands a nice shot that snaps Gable's head back.

Gable moves out of range of the strikes. Nickle lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gable bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Nickle wants to get back to his feet but Gable drags him back down. Gable wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nickle, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gable landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gable in side control, throwing shots but Nickle defends. Nickle tries to escape but Gable is in control. Gable tries to score with some ground and pound. Nickle controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Nickle wants to get back to his feet but Gable drags him back down. Gable postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Nickle bucks up and tries to throw Gable off but instead Gable has got his back! Nickle is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Gable off. It looks like it's working - Gable slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Nickle displaying calm under pressure there. Gable looks to score with a jab to the body but Nickle is just out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gable shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. As Gable backs off Nickle throws a huge counter combo but Gable manages to avoid it all. Nickle tries to bum rush Gable with a series of wild strikes but Gable uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Gable shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nickle as he avoids it easily. Nickle is looking for the big counter here. Nickle looks to throw the jab but Gable is out of range. Gable half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Gable shoots in looking for a takedown. Nickle tries to sprawl out of it but Gable keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nickle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gable tries to move into range but Nickle moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nickle stuffs the takedown attempt from Gable. Gable gets slowly back to his feet. Nickle scores with a jab to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nickle scores with a decent looking hook. Dan Gable has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gable bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Nickle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gable sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Dill Nickle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Nickle winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
