Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ant Thrax (ranked 1537 p4p, 1031 weight class) and Pierre Ledoux (ranked 210 p4p, 141 weight class). Ant Thrax has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ant Thrax! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pierre Ledoux! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ledoux doesn't succeed with the takedown and Thrax counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A jab from Thrax misses. Thrax throws a looping overhand right but Ledoux ducks down to avoid it. Thrax lands with a shot to the body. Ledoux shoots in looking for a takedown but Thrax manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ledoux's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Thrax cracks Ledoux with a good jab.
It looks like Pierre Ledoux has been cut. Ledoux shoots in for a double leg but Thrax sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ant Thrax has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pierre Ledoux. Ledoux tries to close the distance and clinch but Thrax swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Thrax connects with the punch. Thrax throws a body shot but no joy. Thrax connects with a right hand. Ledoux shakes it off. Ledoux shoots and misses and Thrax cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ledoux wants to clinch up but Thrax keeps it at a distance. Ledoux misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Thrax swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ledoux rushes Thrax and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Thrax manages to break the clinch.

Ant Thrax is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ledoux moves in looking to clinch but Thrax pushes him off. Thrax avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thrax is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. The crowd cheers as Thrax lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ledoux doesn't seem phased though. Thrax connects with a jab. Thrax throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ledoux walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Ledoux is rocked! Ledoux takes one to the chin there. Ledoux is still on wobbly legs! Can Thrax finish him? Ledoux swings for the body but Thrax moves out of range.
Ledoux misses with an uppercut
and Thrax counters with a stiff right hand. Ledoux tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thrax swats him away and circles back towards the center. Thrax cracks Ledoux with a good jab. Thrax fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Ledoux to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Ledoux looks to clinch but Thrax throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Ledoux taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ant Thrax! An out of breath Ant Thrax thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
