Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wesley Hardin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alistair Ubereem!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin misses with a body kick.
Ubereem moves out of range of the body kick from Hardin.
It seemed like Ubereem was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Ubereem keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hardin walks into a jab.
Ubereem throws a shot to the body.
Ubereem pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hardin back to the cage. Ubereem follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like John Wesley Hardin has been cut.
Hardin throws an overhand right that lands on Ubereem's shoulder, as Ubereem tries to avoid the shot.
That kick from Ubereem tenderised Hardin's leg. Hardin is trying to keep his angry face on.

Ubereem cracks Hardin with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Ubereem has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hardin to stand back up!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ubereem misses with a straight left.
Ubereem takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

It looks like Alistair Ubereem has been cut.
Hardin blocks a head kick by Ubereem.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ubereem finds it's way round the side to connect with Hardin's head.
Ubereem has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ubereem misses with a combination
letting Hardin counter with a right hand.
Hardin avoids the head kick by Ubereem.
Hardin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hardin just misses with a punch to the body.
Ubereem misses the jab.
Alistair Ubereem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ubereem throws a lazy head kick
and Hardin counters with a straight right hand.
Ubereem paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Ubereem cracks Hardin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hardin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hardin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hardin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ubereem throws out the jab.
It looked like Hardin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Hardin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ubereem misses with a right hand
and Ubereem takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That has opened up Alistair Ubereem's cut even more.
Ubereem lands with a straight right. Hardin didn't see that one coming.
Ubereem scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ubereem scores with a hook.
Ubereem swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Hardin counters with a nice right hand that sends Ubereem toppling to the canvas! Ubereem scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hardin finish him?!
Ubereem throws a hook but Hardin blocks it.
Ubereem tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
And Hardin counters with a quick kick to the body but Ubereem blocks it.
Ubereem misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hardin drops his hands momentarily and Ubereem takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A telegraphed right hand from Hardin misses the target.
Ubereem is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Hardin cracks Ubereem with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hardin has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ubereem to stand back up!

Ubereem is rocked!

The cut above Alistair Ubereem's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've been told by Hardin's head coaches at Undisputed that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ubereem is holding his hands too far apart here. Hardin throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Ubereem is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Wesley Hardin!
