Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kwawi Mumba (ranked 1391 p4p, 466 weight class) and Kip Stern (ranked 180 p4p, 62 weight class). Stern has chosen Fight as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kip Stern!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern thumps Mumba with a low kick.
Mumba ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stern moves away.

Mumba gets tackled into the cage by Stern. Stern maintains the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Stern creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Stern makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mumba tries to pull guard but Stern won't allow it.
Stern fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Kip Stern seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stern walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Stern throws a low kick but it's checked well by Mumba.

Stern has Mumba pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stern pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mumba tumbling to the mat - Stern dives into Mumba's guard.

Mumba uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stern.
Stern throws a jab but it's blocked by Mumba.
Mumba throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stern sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And Stern tries to counter it with a takedown but Mumba pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Stern throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mumba's waist but Mumba gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stern off to one side.
