Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Gunnarsson (ranked 526 p4p, 79 weight class) and Edgars Al Dariush (ranked 70 p4p, 11 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgars Al Dariush!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Dariush digs a good hook to Gunnarsson's body.
Al Dariush takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Al Dariush misses with a lunging right hand
and Gunnarsson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gunnarsson tries to clinch but Al Dariush moves away
and Al Dariush counters with a leg kick.
Al Dariush gets tackled into the cage by Gunnarsson. Gunnarsson maintains the clinch.

Al Dariush's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gunnarsson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Gunnarsson scores with a body shot.
Gunnarsson misses with a takedown
and Al Dariush counters with a nice uppercut.

Gunnarsson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Al Dariush counters with a body kick that stops Gunnarsson in his tracks momentarily.
Al Dariush swats away the attempt to clinch by Gunnarsson.
Gunnarsson throws a right hand that Al Dariush ducks under and follows up with a left that Al Dariush also avoids with ease.
Magnus Gunnarsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Al Dariush counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gunnarsson's knee momentarily.
Al Dariush avoids the body shot from Gunnarsson.
Al Dariush now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Gunnarsson takes a swing at Al Dariush's ribcage but misses.
Donk. Al Dariush catches Gunnarsson right on the button with a cross.
Al Dariush digs a good hook to Gunnarsson's body.
Edgars Al Dariush is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gunnarsson is breathing heavily.
Al Dariush cracks Gunnarsson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Gunnarsson throws a sloppy head kick
and Al Dariush counters with a nice right hand that sends Gunnarsson toppling to the canvas! Gunnarsson scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Al Dariush finish him?!
It looks like Magnus Gunnarsson has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gunnarsson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Al Dariush! But no joy.

Gunnarsson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Al Dariush ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gunnarsson moves away.
Whack! Al Dariush lands a heavy head kick that drops Gunnarsson. The ref tackles Al Dariush to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Gunnarsson was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Edgars Al Dariush!
