Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Averyanov (ranked 2023 p4p, 2829 weight class) and Zekariays Solomon (ranked 252 p4p, 326 weight class). Averyanov comes into the arena with Drago's Entrance Theme blaring out of the sound system. Zekariays Solomon has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrei Averyanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Zekariays Solomon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Averyanov misses with a left hand
and Solomon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Solomon lunges at Averyanov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Averyanov's hand.
Solomon ducks right into an uppercut from Averyanov.
Solomon connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Solomon misses with a hook. Averyanov ducked under it nicely.
Averyanov is looking to counter punch.
Solomon connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Averyanov lands a glancing blow to the side of Solomon's head.
Averyanov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Solomon follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Solomon rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Averyanov counters with a series of strikes. Solomon will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Averyanov looks to clinch
and Solomon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Averyanov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Solomon manages to avoid it.
Averyanov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Averyanov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Solomon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Solomon slips a jab and a cross from Averyanov.
Solomon misses the shot to the body.
Solomon swings for the body but Averyanov moves out of range.
Averyanov scores with a punch to the head.
Solomon checks a leg kick nicely.
Solomon dodges the punch combination from Averyanov.
Averyanov jabs Solomon right on the nose. Solomon blinks but takes it well.
Solomon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Averyanov but Averyanov pushes him off and we're back to square one.
An attempted straight right counter from Averyanov misses the target.
Solomon throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Solomon ducks under a wild hook from Averyanov.
Solomon throws a counter combo.
Solomon moves forwards but Averyanov connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Solomon tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Averyanov is able to avoid easily.
A bone on bone clash there as Averyanov blocks the leg kick.
Nice cross by Averyanov.
Solomon lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Averyanov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Solomon.
Solomon appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Averyanov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Averyanov tries to clinch up but Solomon circles away and keeps his distance.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Averyanov.
A shot to the liver by Solomon. Beautiful body shot.

Averyanov has taken the fight to the clinch.

Solomon breaks the clinch.
Solomon throws a jab when Averyanov was well out of range.

Averyanov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Solomon sprawls well initially but Averyanov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Averyanov looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Averyanov is trying to control the action in half guard but Solomon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Solomon tries to roll over but Averyanov keeps him under control.
Averyanov wants to take a breather but Solomon is having none of it.
Solomon keeping hold of Averyanov's head, controlling as best he can.
Solomon is trying to maintain the position but Averyanov is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Averyanov in particular looking to stall.
Solomon is concentrating on defense, preventing Averyanov from advancing position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Averyanov lands a head shot.
Solomon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Averyanov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Solomon misses with a hook.
Solomon throws a looping overhand right but Averyanov ducks down to avoid it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Andrei Averyanov dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Averyanov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Averyanov looks to clinch
and Solomon counters with a right hand to the body.
Solomon chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Solomon misses with an uppercut. Averyanov saw that one coming.

Solomon closes the distance and pushes Averyanov back into the cage.
Averyanov swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Averyanov tries to work over Solomon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Solomon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Averyanov misses with a body punch.

Solomon turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The ground and pound from Solomon seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Solomon landing strikes.
Averyanov wants to get back to his feet.
Averyanov prevents Solomon from improving position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Solomon scores with a couple of short elbows.
Solomon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Solomon throws a strike aimed at the side of Averyanov's head but Averyanov avoids it well.
Solomon throws an elbow but Averyanov slips to the side and avoids it well.
Solomon postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Solomon misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Solomon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Averyanov down.
Zekariays Solomon has got the better of the ground game so far.
Solomon lands some shots froms side control.

Solomon moves into full mount!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Solomon pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Averyanov blocking the ground and pound.
A nice elbow there by Solomon.
Averyanov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Averyanov tries to get out of the position.
Solomon wants to control the pace but Averyanov is squirming around nicely.
Poor strikes thrown by Solomon there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Solomon connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Solomon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Averyanov takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Solomon's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
