Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paavo Vayrynen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sam Bass!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vayrynen shoots in and gets a takedown into Bass's guard.
Vayrynen is stalling in the full guard.
Vayrynen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bass really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vayrynen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bass is looking for a triangle here but Vayrynen uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Vayrynen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bass is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vayrynen cracks Bass with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Bass is looking to regain half guard here but Vayrynen keeps moving and retains side control.

Vayrynen works to advance to full mount. Bass defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Bass is desperately trying to improve his position but Vayrynen has a good base and remains in mount.

Vayrynen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bass manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Bass tries to bench press Vayrynen off him but Vayrynen keeps the position.
Bass takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Vayrynen looks up at the clock and then as Bass takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vayrynen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Bass tries to buck Vayrynen off but Vayrynen is having none of it.
Bass takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
