Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darsin Bleak!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roko Matijevic!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matijevic takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Bleak tries to score a power double leg takedown but Matijevic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bleak somewhat.
Bleak paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A looping hook to the body misses from Matijevic. Bleak does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bleak lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Matijevic looks to land a left hand but Bleak moved out of range nicely.
Bleak changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Matijevic jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Matijevic uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bleak.
Bleak lands a glancing blow to the side of Matijevic's head.

Bleak drops Matijevic with a big left hand and mounts him. Matijevic is in big trouble!

We've been hearing that Bleak has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matijevic can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Matijevic is still in real trouble! Can Bleak finish him?

Bleak is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Matijevic can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Matijevic avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bleak.
Bleak unloads with some shots from mount but Matijevic bucks and avoids them well.
Matijevic seems to have recovered his senses.

Bleak throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Matijevic because Bleak loaded up on that one.

Bleak misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Bleak lands a couple of good shots and Matijevic has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Matijevic avoids the strikes from Bleak.
Matijevic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bleak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Matijevic looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Bleak misses with punches from the back.
Bleak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bleak is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Matijevic is tapping out! This one is all over!
