Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Spider Monkey (ranked 49 p4p, 74 weight class) and D.C. Benny (ranked 8 p4p, 11 weight class). Benny has chosen D.C. Benny - Unagi Standup Bit as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benny looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Benny steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Monkey. That one must have hurt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Benny. Monkey does a little dance to reset his feet.
Monkey looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Monkey has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Benny.
Monkey throws a solid leg kick but Benny takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Monkey.

and Benny counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Monkey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Good standup being displayed there by Monkey as he connects with a hook.
Benny throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monkey.
Benny keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Monkey throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Benny on the side of the head.
Monkey looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Monkey connects with a right that clearly hurt Benny. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Monkey proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Benny collapses and taps out under the pressure!

After winning the bout, Spider Monkey thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
