Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ranger Alderidge (ranked 770 p4p, 1008 weight class) and Curtis Rome (ranked 88 p4p, 115 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alderidge might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Portland, Oregon. Curtis Rome has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alderidge dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rome. That did some damage!
Alderidge does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Rome moves in looking to clinch but Alderidge pushes him off.
Alderidge misses with a straight left.
Alderidge swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alderidge shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Rome bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Alderidge throws a poor cross that misses
and Alderidge takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Alderidge gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rome postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Alderidge is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rome, into his guard.

Rome is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Alderidge has his hands clasped together but Rome extends and breaks Alderidge's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Rome.
