PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Grave (ranked 2476 p4p, 3917 weight class) and The Royal Savage (ranked 258 p4p, 383 weight class). Grave's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, War Pigs - Black Sabbath. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Grave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of New York, The Royal Savage!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grave looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Jack Grave has been cut.
Grave has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Grave there as he acknowledges the shot.
Savage waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Grave.
The fighters circling - Savage throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Grave is looking to counter punch.
Grave scores with a jab to the head.
Savage misses with a hook
and Grave counters with a stiff right hand.
Savage catches Grave with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Savage connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
We've been told by Grave's head coaches at Dangerous Fight Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Savage misses with a hook
and Savage takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Savage throws an off balance right hand
and Grave counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Savage out cold! What a finish! Grave is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jack Grave!
A very excited looking Jack Grave made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
