PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Lauzier (ranked 514 p4p, 811 weight class) and Fredrik White (ranked 68 p4p, 104 weight class). White has chosen Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone as his entrance music. Fredrik White told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Lauzier!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fredrik White!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Lauzier scores with a nice strike.
The fighters circling - Lauzier throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lauzier throws a shot from downtown. White moves away and avoids it.
Lauzier swats away the attempt to clinch by White.
A little feinted left hand from Lauzier on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
White slaps away a takedown attempt from Lauzier, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lauzier takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

enabling White to counter with a crisp jab.

White drives through and clinches with Lauzier against the cage.

A jab-cross combination lands for White and sends Lauzier crashing to the mat! White follows him down to the mat - Lauzier regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

White digs a right hand underneath Lauzier's ribcage. Lauzier let out a lung full of air as it connected.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as White takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
White has a couple of punches blocked by Lauzier.
A frustrated look appears on Lauzier's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Lauzier bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Fredrik White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
