Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aljosa Medeiros (ranked 1393 p4p, 1922 weight class) and Pacome Thibodeaux (ranked 155 p4p, 205 weight class). Medeiros's entrance music is Sidequest - Chime. A fine choice. On his way into the cage it seems that Aljosa Medeiros has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Aljosa Medeiros seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thibodeaux lands a jab to Medeiros's midsection.

Thibodeaux slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Thibodeaux looks to score with a jab to the body but Medeiros is just out of range.

Thibodeaux unleashes a big counter combination but Medeiros bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Thibodeaux stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Medeiros bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Thibodeaux wants to get back to his feet but Medeiros is dominant here and he's now got Thibodeaux's back!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Medeiros is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Medeiros gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Medeiros gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Medeiros apologises and we restart here on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Thibodeaux enables Medeiros to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Thibodeaux manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Medeiros advances position into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thibodeaux can do anything to dispel that myth.
