Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amri Mbeki (ranked 2674 p4p, 2331 weight class) and Alistair Ubereem (ranked 147 p4p, 133 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mbeki might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Intro. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Amri Mbeki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alistair Ubereem!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ubereem looks to throw the jab but Mbeki is out of range.
Ubereem keeps Mbeki at a distance using the push kick.
Ubereem misses with a looping left.
Mbeki thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ubereem moves out of range as Mbeki strikes.
Ubereem doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Mbeki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mbeki misses with a right hand
and Ubereem counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Amri Mbeki has been cut.
Mbeki shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ubereem counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ubereem with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ubereem looks to land a left hand but Mbeki moved out of range nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Ubereem counters with a stiff right hand.
Mbeki has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gold Samurai's Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Mbeki tries for a takedown but Ubereem sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mbeki misses with an uppercut
and Ubereem counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ubereem throws a big shot that misses.
Ubereem missing with a left hand there. Mbeki was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ubereem lands the left hand.

A shot to the liver by Ubereem. Beautiful body shot.
Mbeki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ubereem as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Amri Mbeki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ubereem throws a shot to the body.
A jab from Mbeki misses.
Mbeki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ubereem sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Amri Mbeki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mbeki takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Mbeki is breathing heavily.
Mbeki looks to land a left hand but Ubereem moved out of range nicely.
Ubereem now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Ubereem steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mbeki.
Mbeki misses with a hook. Ubereem ducked under it nicely.
Ubereem connects with the punch.
Ubereem lands a nice hook to Mbeki's body. Mbeki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mbeki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ubereem but Ubereem pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mbeki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Mbeki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ubereem bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ubereem scores with a head kick.
Ubereem ducks under a wild hook from Mbeki.
Ubereem tries a quick counter leg kick but Mbeki is wise to it.
Mbeki takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ubereem has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Mbeki throws a poor cross that misses
and Ubereem counters with a nice uppercut.
The fighters circling - Ubereem throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mbeki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

It looks like Alistair Ubereem has been cut.
Whack! Ubereem lands a heavy head kick that drops Mbeki. The ref tackles Ubereem to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Mbeki was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Alistair Ubereem!
During a confident post fight interview, Alistair Ubereem thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
