Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Sarinnen (ranked 1459 p4p, 3135 weight class) and Will Trapp (ranked 133 p4p, 251 weight class). Will Trapp will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Will Trapp!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarinnen misses with a shot to the body
enabling Trapp to counter with a crisp jab.
We've been hearing reports that Sarinnen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Trapp tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sarinnen was well out of range. Poor timing from Trapp.
An attempted straight right counter from Sarinnen misses the target.
Trapp avoids the body shot from Sarinnen.
Samuel Sarinnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sarinnen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trapp swivels and escapes.
Sarinnen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Trapp.
We've been informed that Trapp has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Sarinnen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Sarinnen swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Trapp.
Sarinnen avoids the body shot from Trapp.
Sarinnen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sarinnen lands a glancing blow to the side of Trapp's head.
Trapp scores with a body shot.
Sarinnen dips to his left and cracks Trapp with an uppercut!

Sarinnen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sarinnen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sarinnen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sarinnen is looking to take a break and control but Trapp is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sarinnen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Trapp is looking to regain half guard here but Sarinnen keeps moving and retains side control.
Sarinnen wants to control but Trapp is keeping him busy.

Sarinnen is working to tighten his grip on Trapp's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Trapp has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sarinnen is really squeezing tight and eventually Trapp passes out! Sarinnen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
