Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov (ranked 280 p4p, 303 weight class) and Javier Arroyo (ranked 36 p4p, 39 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khabib Nurmagomedov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Javier Arroyo!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arroyo throws a head kick that misses
and Nurmagomedov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nurmagomedov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arroyo manages to avoid it.

I was talking to Nurmagomedov's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Nurmagomedov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nurmagomedov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nurmagomedov moves forwards but Arroyo connects with a nice, crisp jab.

That was a close second round but I would say that Khabib Nurmagomedov will probably get the nod.

Nurmagomedov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Arroyos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Arroyo is still on wobbly legs! Can Nurmagomedov finish him?

Arroyo gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Nurmagomedov points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Arroyo wakes up just in time to hear Nurmagomedov thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
