The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newport dodges the punch combination from McGee.
Mitch McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Newport thuds his shin into the meat of McGee's side.
Newport throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Newport moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Newport works McGee's body with a nice hook.
Newport lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Newport scores with a push kick.
McGee looks winded!
McGee has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Newport.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGee throws a nice looking combination but Newport bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McGee takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Newport bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops McGee! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
It looks like Mitch McGee has been cut.
Newport drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Newport as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! McGee screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Newport! Nice submission victory there!
