Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Holloway (ranked 2713 p4p, 3604 weight class) and Doko Dokov (ranked 281 p4p, 344 weight class). Doko Dokov struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Max Holloway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 52 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doko Dokov!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dokov tries to close the distance and clinch but Holloway swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Holloway avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dokov is pawing at Holloway, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Holloway's nose. Holloway is badly hurt! Dokov pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Holloway tries desperately to hold on but Dokov is relentless in his assault! As Holloway receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Dokov away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Doko Dokov!
Our winner, Doko Dokov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
