With a record of 17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ernesto Romero!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Romero fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
I was talking to River 's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Romero scores with an uppercut up the middle.
River is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Romero is keeping busy.
River misses with a punch to the body.
A right hook to the body lands for River .
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Romero's coach down at MMA Training and Sparring Buddies was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Romero's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

The fight stays on the outside here - Romero looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
River swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

River has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Romero uses from the top position.
River keeping moving, preventing Romero from controlling successfully.
Romero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with River . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

River had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Romero defends it easily.

Romero wants to control from the top but River keeps moving.

River looking for a guillotine here but Romero defends easily.
Romero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

River has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Romero should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, River has tightened it up now! Romero should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
