Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bo Duran (ranked 84 p4p, 1520 weight class) and Ameen Robertson (ranked 16 p4p, 198 weight class). Robertson has chosen Regulate - Nate Dogg & Warren G as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bo Duran! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ameen Robertson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duran throws a series of punches but Robertson moves out of range. Robertson lands a nice looking body shot.
Robertson works Duran's body with a nice hook. Robertson misses with a left hand and Duran counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Ameen Robertson has been cut. Robertson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duran manages to avoid it. Duran throws a push kick but Robertson slaps the foot to one side. Robertson cracks Duran with an open hand slap. Robertson misses the shot to the body. Duran slips a straight right by Robertson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robertson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Duran quickly recovers to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Robertson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Duran makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Duran.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duran has control of Robertson's left arm, preventing Robertson from doing any damage. Robertson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Robertson tries to free his leg and advance position but Duran is retaining full guard. Robertson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Still in half guard, Robertson seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Let's hope that Robertson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Robertson is keen to just control but Duran is a slippery customer. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Robertson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Robertson. Duran uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Robertson.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Duran slips a straight right by Robertson. Duran was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Robertson misses the shot to the body. Robertson throws out a loose jab but Duran uses good head movement to avoid it. Duran jabbing away but nothing is landing. Robertson dives in and scores a takedown into Duran's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Duran can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Robertson controls the pace. Duran wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Robertson stays in close to Duran's body and controls the position. Duran bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Robertson's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duran is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Robertson keeping full guard, as Duran tries to pass. Robertson pushes Duran off and scrambles back to his feet.
Robertson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A low kick from Robertson is predictable there and Duran comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Robertson stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Duran is on him like rabid pit bull! Robertson slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bo Duran! Bo Duran retains his light heavyweight title! A very excited looking Bo Duran made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
