Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Time To Fight Wright (ranked 64 p4p, 31 weight class) and Boyko Kersikov (ranked 9 p4p, 4 weight class). Kersikov has chosen Sefa - God's Plan as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Time To Fight Wright!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Boyko Kersikov!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright tries for a takedown but Kersikov circles away easily
and Kersikov counters with a nice uppercut.
A decent looking cross lands there for Wright.
Kersikov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wright throws out the jab.

Kersikov tries to sprawl but Wright drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wright lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Wright is looking to take a break and control but Kersikov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kersikov taking some punishment here, with Wright in his half guard.
Kersikov is positioning himself well to prevent Wright advancing to mount.
Wright has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kersikov wants to get back to full guard.

Wright wants to work for an arm triangle but Kersikov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Wright thows a huge punch but Kersikov dodges it nicely.
Wright winds up and cracks Kersikov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wright is trying to control the action in half guard but Kersikov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wright is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kersikov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Wright seems to be looking for submissions.
Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wright is thwarting Kersikov's attempts to control the position.
Wright with the ground and pound but Kersikov uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Kersikov is trying to keep Wright in close.
Wright working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kersikov's head.
Kersikov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kersikov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wright missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Wright trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Kersikov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wright.
Wright looking to pass the guard.
Kersikov keeping moving, preventing Wright from controlling successfully.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wright connects with a couple of short punches.
Kersikov pulls Wright in close to his closed guard and prevents Wright from doing any damage or advancing position.
Wright wants to control from the top but Kersikov keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wright's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Wright is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kersikov seems keen to control Wright's posture.

Wright drops back looking for a leg! Kersikov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kersikov manages to kick Wright off! Wright jumps back into Kersikov's guard.
Wright wants to control from the top but Kersikov keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Wright misses with a takedown attempt
and Kersikov counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wright shoots for a double leg takedown but Kersikov sprawls well. He's pushed Wright's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It seemed like Kersikov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Time To Fight Wright. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Time To Fight Wright dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Wright walks into a left hand.
Kersikov throws a jab but it's blocked by Wright.
It looked like Wright was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kersikov.
Kersikov misses with an uppercut.
Wright half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Wright misses the shot to the body.
Wright scores with a one two! Kersikov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Wright cracks Kersikov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Wright comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kersikov was well out of range. Poor timing from Wright.
Time To Fight Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wright throws a sloppy body shot
and Kersikov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wright takes a jab right on the kisser.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Kersikov counters with a nice uppercut.
Wright misses with a straight left.
Wright fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kersikov swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
A shot to the body from Wright misses
and Kersikov counters with a huge head kick that drops Wright! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Boyko Kersikov!
Boyko Kersikov is the new middleweight champion!
